Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group supports Apicoltura Urbana by placing 9 hives, with around 270,000 bees, in the green areas of the Iris Ceramica Group. An effective and concrete action that helps local well-being by protecting biodiversity and endangered species.
Apicoltura Urbana is the first Italian organization dealing with biodiversity, education, awareness, biocontrol, and information. It contributes to the Global Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda by making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, durable, and sustainable through activities that safeguard natural heritage.
The study of the life of bee hives can offer information on some aspects of the impact of human activity on the environment and the conservation of biodiversity, as well as monitoring the state of health of the environment. Through this association, specialist beekeepers will take care of the bees adopted by the Group, monitoring their health status through smart monitoring devices and collecting the honey they produce.
In the near future, it will also be possible to organize guided tours with talks on the importance of pollinators for all employees and their families, continuing the work of raising awareness on the issues of sustainability and biodiversity on which the work of the Foundation is based. Once again, Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group demonstrates its commitment to a better future by supporting a project that aims to protect the territory and the environment and safeguard biodiversity.
