Matimex, in its work philosophy and the relation with the big educational institutions, has collaborated with IED Madrid during school year 2015/2016, in particular with the Master of Design of Interiors.

The IED, of Italian origin, was born in 1966 and it is composed for different schools: Design, Style, Visual Communication and Communication.

Between its priorities is the strong bonds with local enterprises, the interaction with reference sectors and the evolution of the growth standards of the main markets and professional situations.

The Matimex collaboration’s with the IED consisted in the development, by the students, of a real project according to the specifications of the company, the application of the big ceramic sizes from Gruppo Fiandre Iris Ceramica and Active Clean Air & Antibacterial Ceramic; being Matimex involved in the didactical program from IED Madrid.

The students Elena Alfaro, architect; and Ana Karen Rodriguez, interior architect, were the deserving of the prize by Matimex, as part of the collaboration with the high design school for the finally project of Master. In their projects was reflected the perfection of ceramic materials, understanding as obvious and concise their applications; just like their development level formal and technical. A visit to the installations of the Group in Italia has been the prize. The finality of this it was showing the reality that they have projected in their designs, knowing all stages from the fabrication and the numerous ceramic solutions from exterior and interior.

Be accompanied by the responsible of MAE and PIAM, Gemma Vidal, they knew the production of big formats and the different showrooms with ceramic solutions. Their trip was finished with time for enjoying to Modena. Gemma says “this travel has been very intensive, productive and learning; they have known the stages of ceramic which they have applied in their projects, from to raw material to finally step, and also all models of the Group, including the new models from Cersaie 2016”.

Finally, the manager from Matimex, Juan-Luis Grafulla, who was during the presentation from the projects, says “for me has been a pleasure our participation with the IED Madrid; all students presented an applications with our materials very good and with very important development, overtaking the expectations. We hope that our collaboration continue”.
