On Monday 9 February Ramón Carneros, commercial director of Matimex, gave the first session of the training course on ceramic materials and systems of Gruppo Fiandre Iris Ceramica in IED Madrid.
The Interior Design Master defines and develops the fundamental concepts of interior design and presents a research process that is materialized through project of different types, experimenting with such diverse environment like malls, showrooms, multipurpose, ephemeral… and giving students a 3601º view of what will be their professional activity.
The academy degree wellcomes pupils of every nationalities from Chinese to Brazilian.
From this point of view, Miguel Barahona, Architect from Polytechnic University of Madrid and director of the master, invited Ramón Carneros, to participate in it to provide an update view of the ceramic sector.
Ramón explained to an exclusive group of students the most innovative ceramic materials in sustainability, like the revolutionary application photocatalytic Active Clean Air & Antibacterial Ceramic™ in slabs 300x150cm., and the many uses that currently the field of architecture is incorporating into.
The speech showed technical aspects such as how works Active application, to decorative aspects as an integral part of the design, such as table , movable panels, doors, ceilings, furniture or bathrooms and kitchen items.
The experimentation through the five senses is a key part of the master, that´s why in the training session Matimex will not passed the opportunity to sharing samples of materials to deepen concepts such as: light, finiches, colors, texture, ….

All theoretical contributions that nourish the knowledge of students in the Master, including ceramic innovations, will be implemented in a final project that will work in a multidisciplinary way.
The students, all professionals in disciplines related to the world of design and architecture, showed great interest and did not miss the opportunity to ask interesting questions before the end of the meeting.
